I’m so not who I want to be right now. After saying, “Today’s the day!” several days in a row – on days that were -none of them- apparently actually THE day … I am still stuck in holiday hell, where you can be lazy, eat whatever you want, and not care about the repercussions. Except that I do. I really care. But that didn’t prevent me from eating the rest of my Smuckers natural chunky peanut butter straight from the jar yesterday. (It was necessary, you see, so that it would be gone and no longer around to tempt me.) See how I rationalized that? Too bad I didn’t ration the peanut butter like a normal person.
Repercussions. Oh, they’re coming. The pants are tighter. The sports bras are tighter. What’s with that?
Anyway, one of these days here soon is actually going to be the day. And everybody better watch out! π
Seriously, though, this is supposed to be my year of giving back. I can’t be drowning in my own peanut butter-obsessed world if I want to help other people reach their goals! So, I’m trying to snap out of it. And thinking about other people helps. Suddenly, when I think about another person trying to resist the peanut butter, I’m an expert on self control and wise choices. For example, try almond butter. It’s more NUTritious π
Don’t beat yourself up Jenn! I’m already on board with the almond butter so one less person you have to tell haha π
Thanks, Renee! I’m so impressed with your daily painting challenge. My favorite is the monkey! Keep it up; it’s so fun to see a new one each day. You must be working round the clock! -Jenn
Jenn – Just remember, the best we are ever going to be are human. Sometimes we just need to give ourselves a break. Poca a poca. My kidney donation is scheduled for 1/29. Two years after your gift, you inspired me to take this journey. Twenty three days to prepare my mind, body, and spirit. All the best for you in 2014. All those to whom you give back will be greatly blessed. – Patrick
Thanks, Patrick. Wow, I will be thinking of you on 1/29! May you both have perfect procedures and smooth recoveries! You are giving a wonderful gift! Best wishes! -Jenn
